The Nose Knows, And Other Cannabis Buying Tips

Not so long ago, the cannabis buying process was as rote and choice-less as getting health insurance. You’d call your dealer, give him cash, and were handed whatever he had at the time. Indicas, Sativas, and everything in between be dammed.

Today, the choices are overwhelming. And in a state like Oregon, nearly limitless. Just like Netflix original content, it would be nearly impossible for you to sample and learn about every single strain available. And even if you did, by the time you were done there would be a whole new batch of newly created strains you’d have to start over with.

In a new article on The Manual called Why Learning About Quality Cannabis Shouldn’t Strain Your Brain, author David Duran writes about the sometimes overwhelming process of learning about and purchasing marijuana, post prohibition. Detailing the steps in which consumers face option paralysis, he offers a few tips from our very own John Plummer, owner of Bull Run.

True to John’s nature, he puts the consumer first. He offers the simplest ways a consumer can literally sniff test what they’re buying. Read the full article HERE to learn what he has to say about knowing when to back off a strain, and knowing when it might be the magic flower you’ve been looking for.

…And it’s a love letter to the Bull Run Lifestyle.

In a land far away in New York City, where people are awoken by car horns, have their clothes professionally cleaned and check the DOW industrial average while brushing their teeth, they dream of a simpler life. To them, the Oregon lifestyle is a fairy tale. The sap that comes from our trees is a thick and vibrant viscoses that courses through the veins of our forests, gushing with life. Our air is crisp and clean, with the soft, rustling sounds of leaves and animals rolling in the gentle breeze, and everything that is grown and cared for is nurtured by the love and light that keeps our land going. And, according to Forbes writer Warren Bobrow, our cannagars capture it all.

Where Warren is from, electronic vaporizers and delicate, hundred dollar bongs are what’s used to consume cannabis. We decided to show him another way. Our cannagars are weed cigars that are wrapped in marijuana leaves. The bicycle of the marijuana world, if you will. Low tech, simple, and highly effective.

He loved it. So much, in fact, he wrote THIS amazing article chronicling his journey and detailing the craft, expertise, and love that we put into our bud.

Truly Warren, your appreciation and recognition is humbling, and we hope to see you back soon.
